July31, 2009 TORONTO ON - Media Release - CIMHMF - Hall goes fully national

The Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada (MCC) is the title sponsor of the Annual Induction Banquet, and has been since the Hall's inception. More than $100,000 has been contributed by MCC to operation of the Foundation. 

Motorcyclists Confederation presents Annual Induction Banquet.  The 2009 Hall of Fame Induction Banquet & Reunion, sponsored by the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada (MCC), will be held on Saturday evening, October 24, 2009 at the Sheraton (formerly Renaissance) Toronto Airport Hotel & Conference Centre, 801 Dixon Road in Toronto. The event, emceed by Pat Gonsalves, will feature an audio- visual presentation on each inductee, a display of special motorcycles, a silent auction to raise funds for the Foundation and, of course, a gourmet meal. A cash bar is offered.

NEW FOUNDATION CHAIR  - John Cooper succeeds Peter Sheppard as chair of the Canadian International Motorcycle Heritage Museum Foundation. The CIMHMF is the body that operates the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame. John, the former editor of Cycle Canada magazine and founding member of the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group (just to mention a few credentials) brings a great wealth of Canadian motorcycling knowledge and history to the foundation.

Two-Time Superbike champion Francis Martin attending Induction Banquet as guest of Suzuki Canada.  SUZUKI CANADA, which sponsors the Wall of Fame that portrays the Hall of Fame inductees, has confirmed that two-time Canadian Superbike Champion Francis Martin will join them at the event.

A NEW MOTORCYCLE will be awarded to someone who attends the banquet. Each banquet ticket purchased is an automatic entry into the door prize draw, and attendees will have the opportunity to purchase additional chances - up to a maximum of 500 tickets. " We're excited about this event, and this door prize adds the extra sizzle to those who are attending the induction ceremonies" says Peter Sheppard, Foundation President and Chair of the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada, the Banquet Sponsor.
